Overview
In November 2000 ACWA’s Board of Directors approved development of an Outreach Program to serve as the grassroots effort to actively engage members in advancing ACWA’s legislative and regulatory goals. The program has generated hundreds of letters, phone calls, emails and personal visits to legislators, regulators and administration officials, and positively influenced legislation in Sacramento and Washington, D.C. and regulatory efforts of the Association.

As the grassroots arm, ACWA’s 10 region boards and Outreach Task Force play a key role in developing ACWA’s Outreach Program, grading criteria, awards system, recruitment of members and utilize regional Outreach Captains and developing policy principles that guide the Association.
