DEMAND RESPONSE PROGRAM

ACWA has teamed with two demand response providers to offer ACWA members a variety of demand response programs as well as energy management services.  This ACWA Preferred Provider Program includes, Ancillary Services Coalition (ASC) consumerpowerline.com/ASC/, a preferred provider since 1999, and ACWA’s newest preferred provider, EnerNOC www.enernoc.com/.  Both Demand Response aggregators present ACWA members with a unique opportunity to lower their energy costs, generate additional revenue and help prevent blackouts and brownouts when the state faces critical electricity shortages. Program participants get paid for offering to reduce their energy usage even if never called upon. If events do occur, payments to participants are even higher. These programs can keep electricity costs down for everyone and benefit the environment.

  1. EnerNOC's technology-enabled demand response and energy management solutions help optimize the balance of electric supply and demand. The Company uses its Network Operations Center, or NOC, to remotely manage and reduce electricity consumption across a network of commercial, institutional, and industrial customer sites to support a Clean Green California.
  2. Ancillary Services Coalition (ASC) - ASC is authorized by the California Energy Commission to provide Technical Assessment, Technology Incentive services statewide and we are currently under contract with Southern California Edison and San Diego Gas & Electric for their TA/TI program. The program is funded by the utilities and pays for the assessment of demand response opportunities and the necessary technology to facilitate demand response.
