Energy Program: Navigating the New Landscape of Renewable Energy Incentives for Water Agencies
Wednesday, May 11, 2011, 2:00 p.m.
Recency C, Hyatt Regency
A confluence of factors is changing the landscape of renewable energy incentives in California. As popular programs such as the Calfornia Solar Initiative wind down, a new administration and new energy and public utility commissioners are introducing a sleuth of new targeted incentive programs for renewable energy. From the California Public Utilities Commissions' SB 32 proceedings to design a new statewide Feed-in Tariff (FIT), to work on a Renewable Auction Mechanism (RAM), Renewable Energy Self-Generation Bill Credit Transfer (RES-BCT), new opportunities for new technologies such as small and in-conduit hydro, as well as finance options resulting from the emerging market for tradable renewable energy credits (TRECs) and RECs, there are new opportunities for water agencies to be leaders in renewable energy deployment in California
