Paul Kelley, President
Paul Kelley was elected to a two-year term as president of the Association of California Water Agencies in December 2009.
A native Californian raised in Sonoma County, Kelley was been a member of the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors and a director for the Sonoma County Water Agency for 14 years. He previously served as vice president of ACWA, chair of ACWA’s Region 1 and has served as a member of the ACWA Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Kelley has been active in several key ACWA initiatives, including development of the association’s 2005 water policy document, “No Time to Waste: A Blueprint for California Water.”
At the invitation of the California Climate Change Action Registry, Kelley attended the United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Bali, Indonesia, in December 2007, and spoke about Sonoma County Water Agency’s renewable power and water efficiency programs.
His work history includes experience as a computer programmer, math teacher, basketball coach, operations manager for a small chemical firm as well as a year with Robert Young Vineyards. He has been actively involved in the Kiwanis Club and was involved in the incorporation of the Town of Windsor. Kelley holds a degree in computer science from San Francisco State University.
