SSWD Receives Two Awards from the California Association of Public Information Officials

SSWD receives two CAPIO awards

SACRAMENTO – On April 19, 2012, Sacramento Suburban Water District (SSWD) received two awards at the California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) Conference.  The awards were in the categories of Writing (SSWD’s Tap Water Facts) and Special Publication (SSWD’s Outdoor Watering Schedule Magnet bill insert).

CAPIO is an organization which promotes excellence in public communications. Members in this organization include counties, cities, public agencies and special districts.  CAPIO is an affiliate of the League of California Cities.  Annually, CAPIO’s Excellence in Communications Awards competition recognizes ‘the best of the best’ in public communications.

Sacramento Suburban Water District’s General Manager Robert Roscoe stated, “It is a tremendous honor for the District to be recognized with two awards by CAPIO in a statewide competition.” Mr. Roscoe continued, “Jan Gentry, Assistant to the General Manager, is the creative force behind the public outreach for Sacramento Suburban Water District and chairs our internal community outreach committee.”

“It is gratifying to be recognized for our customer communication efforts,” stated Jan Gentry.  “These awards are possible because of SSWD’s team effort to provide superior outreach and service to our ratepayers and because of the support we receive from our Board of Directors who recognize the importance of customer communication,” Gentry stated.
