Finance Program: “Finding Sufficient Revenues During a Water Crisis and Continued Water Conservation”
This program and its presentations were featured at ACWA's 2010 Spring Conference
This session covered strategies to address the revenue shortfall caused by the drought and regulatory hortages of water.
While this has been a “normal” rain year, consumers are expected to continue their water-saving conservation measures. This will mean a continued low water delivery and low revenue situation for many districts.
In addition, consumers will continue to voice their concerns (“You asked us to save water and we did, now you raise our water rates.”) and will continue to organize Proposition 218 protests of rate increases.
