Whether it’s the lowest Sierra snowpack on record or the historic announcement of zero deliveries from the State Water Project, it’s clear that California is in a drought of epic proportions.

Local, state and federal agencies are mobilizing to address the challenge, but experts agree we are in uncharted territory. What will these unprecedented conditions and unprecedented response measures mean for Californians in 2014? How will impacts of the drought reverberate across the state this summer?

Find out what you need to know at a special briefing on the 2014 drought sponsored by the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA), the California Department of Water Resources, the California State Association of Counties (CSAC), the League of California Cities, the California Farm Water Coalition, the California Farm Bureau Federation and others. The briefing is set for 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14 at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento.

Among the topics to be covered:

  • Overview of California’s Drought Conditions
  • A Look at Local Impacts around the State
  • Managing the Drought Crisis on the Ground
  • The Ripple Effect
  • Reaching the California Consumer
