ACWA Region 5 Hosts a Tour of Alameda County Water District Recharge Facilities and San Francisco PUC Historic Sunol Headquarters and Temple and Hetch Hetchy Projects

June 3 & 4, 2012

Please join us on Sunday, June 3 for a program and networking reception at the Fremont Marriott. On June 4, attendees will convene at the Alameda County Water District office before departing on the tour to see Alameda County Water District’s recharge facility, rubber inflatable dams, quarries and fish screens. Then, join us for lunch at SFPUC’s historic Sunol Water headquarters and visit the restored Sunol Temple. Following lunch, we’ll tour nearby multi-million dollar Hetch Hetchy Water System Improvement projects: New Irvington Tunnel, Alameda Siphon 4 over Calaveras fault, and seismic upgrade of system’s water treatment plant.  See these extraordinary construction sites and hear from the lead project and construction managers.

Monday, June 4:

8:30 a.m.    Check-in at Alameda County Water District, 43885 South Grimmer Blvd., Fremont, CA 94538

3:00 p.m.   Tour will conclude at Alameda County Water District

Registration Fee: $ 50.00

(Registration fee includes: meeting materials, tour transportation, reception, lunch, and snacks & refreshments on the bus). Tour participants are required to sign an ACWA Voluntary Release and Waiver, available at HERE.

Registration deadline: May 25, 2012, or until space is full.

Cancelations must be received in writing by 5 p.m. on May 25, 2012, in order to cancel a registration and receive reimbursement.

Dress Code:Facility tours require closed-toed shoes.
