Drought Tool Kit
To assist member agencies in dealing with drought, ACWA has created a Drought Tool Kit, which includes drought facts and water supply conditions, a sample drought ordinance, a sample drought resolution, a sample newsletter article, and other drought resources.

Free Public Education Materials
The California Water Awareness Campaign offers free public education and outreach materials for agencies. Materials include print, bus, theater, radio and television ads, newsletters, brochures, and more. All materials are available in both English and Spanish. A five-minute documentary, “California’s Water: A Crisis We Can’t Ignore,” is also available in both English and Spanish. The DVD was produced by ACWA in 2007 to raise awareness of critical challenges facing the state’s water system. More resources and information are available on the campaign’s Web site, www.calwatercrisis.org.
2009 Drought Water Bank
The state Department of Water Resources has established a 2009 Drought Water Bank to facilitate the exchange of water throughout the state. Visit DWR’s drought Web site for more information.
Drought Disaster Guides
State and federal agencies have developed disaster guides to assist agencies in dealing with the effects of drought and water supply shortages.
