ACWA HBA Transition: June 29 Deadline for Member Agencies to Respond

The ACWA Health Benefits Authority is asking its members to take action on the proposed transition of HBA operations and programs into the ACWA/Joint Powers Insurance Authority.

The move would allow the two organizations to combine resources, reduce overall costs and improve operations. Potential cost savings would be passed on to ACWA member agencies that participate in programs offered by HBA and ACWA/JPIA.

The HBA Board of Directors voted to pursue the opportunity at its Feb. 6 meeting. In order to proceed with the transition, HBA must secure the written consent of 75% of its members by July 1.

As of April 27, resolutions had been received by 39% of HBA members.
