Save Our Water Launches Online Ad Campaign

California’s largest statewide water conservation program, Save Our Water, unveiled a new online advertising campaign today. The Web ads are based on the public education program’s summer campaign, Real People, Real Savings, and feature everyday Californians who are saving water inside and outside their homes.

The three online ads are:

  • “Impress,” which features Kelly Marshall (Clayton, CA) and invites people to see how Kelly and others have created beautiful and water-efficient landscaping at their homes.
  • “3 Ways,” which tells people three ways to save water (water twice a week, morning or night; fix leaky sprinklers and plant water-smart California-friendly plants) and invites them to meet Californians saving water at www.saveourh2o.org
  • “Sprinkle,” which reminds people to water their landscaping in the early morning hours or in the evening, instead of during the heat of the day, to save water.

The ads can be viewed here: http://realpeople.saveourh2o.org/index.cfm/web-banner-ads/.

The campaign has also launched an online water saving pledge, which visitors may complete and publish to Facebook. View the pledge: http://realpeople.saveourh2o.org/index.cfm/take-action/.

Save Our Water, which was created in 2009, is aimed at helping Californians make water conservation a daily habit. The program is a partnership between ACWA and the Department of Water Resources.
