Council to Consider Final Draft of Delta Plan

The Delta Stewardship Council will review the final staff draft of the Delta Plan at its meeting Thursday in West Sacramento.

Council members will discuss issues that remain open from the June 28-29 meeting. One key issue will be a water policy provision known as “Water Reliability Policy 1: Reduce Reliance on the Delta." Members of the Ag-Urban Coalition have been working with the council and staff to craft policy language that ensures the final Delta Plan is consistent with the 2009 comprehensive water legislation that created the Delta Stewardship Council.

Any changes to the draft plan that the council approves at the meeting will serve as the basis for submittal of draft regulations to the Office of Administrative Law (OAL) as part of the process to give the policies regulatory effect. Changes approved at the meeting will also be the basis for recirculating a supplement to the plan's environmental impact report.

Thursday's meeting will take place from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Ramada Inn & Suites at 1250 Halyard Drive in West Sacramento.
