Senate Select Committee to Hold Informational Hearing on the Delta

A Senate panel is set to convene an informational hearing on near-term Delta projects, funding and policy issues on Oct. 15 in Martinez.

The hearing, called by the Senate Select Committee on Delta Stewardship and Sustainability, will feature panel discussions on promising near-term projects. Representatives of the Coalition to Support Near-Term Delta Projects, including the Delta Counties Coalition, Contra Costa Water District, the Planning and Conservation League, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Westlands Water District, Central Delta Water Agency and the Center for Collaborative Policy, are scheduled to speak.

Also on the agenda are Sunne Wright-McPeak of the Delta Vision Foundation, Anton Favorini-Csorba of the Legislative Analyst's Office, Phil Isenberg, chair of the Delta Stewardship Council, Don Nottoli, chair of the Delta Protection Commission and Mark Cowin, director of the Department of Water Resources.

The hearing begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Contra Costa County Board Chambers in Martinez.
