State Board Workshop Set for Aug. 22 on Desalination Facilities, Brine Disposal
The State Water Resources Control Board will hold a public workshop at 9 a.m. Aug. 22 in Sacramento to provide information about proposed amendments to its plans addressing desalination facilities and brine disposal.
The focus of the workshop is to present the findings and recommendations of an expert panel on brine discharges, an expert panel on intake impacts and mitigation, and the preliminary results of a scientific study to determine the tolerance of Ocean Plan test species to various concentrations of hyper-saline brine.
Members of the public will have opportunity to ask questions or comment during the meeting.
