Natural Resources Committee to Hold Oversight Hearing on ESA Litigation

The House Natural Resources Committee will hold a full committee oversight hearing Tuesday on the Endangered Species Act and impacts of litigation.

Committee Chair Doc Hastings said the hearing would be the first of many the committee will convene to examine both the strengths and weaknesses of the ESA.

"It has been over two decades since the ESA was last reauthorized and it’s the responsibility of Congress to undertake a thoughtful analysis of the law to see what improvements could be made to ensure that it works for both species and people,” Hastings said.

Visit the committee's calendar for testimony and additional information, once it is made available. The hearing is open to the public and a live video stream will be broadcast at http://naturalresources.house.gov/live.
