House Passes Hoover Power Allocation Act, Heads to President's Desk
The House of Representatives passed HR 470, Heck (R-Nev.), last night, Dec. 7, by voice vote. The bill authorizes the Hoover Dam to continue distributing power for the next half century, and also sets aside 5 percent of the Hoover Dam's power for use by new entities, including American Indian tribes, irrigation districts, electric cooperatives and others that previously did not have access.
The bill now moves to the president's desk for his signature.
