House, Senate Appropriators Move Spending Bills
The House Appropriations Subcommittee on the Interior & Environment yesterday marked up the FY 2011 spending bill funding the Department of Interior, EPA and related agencies. The House Subcommittee approved $11 billion for the Department of Interior; equal to last year’s enacted level and $133 million less than the President’s request. The Subcommittee approved $10 billion for the EPA, $271 million less than last year’s enacted level and $2 million less than the President’s request. The EPA’s Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving funds were marked at $1.9 billion and $1.2 billion, respectively. Both state revolving funds were cut by more than $180 million each from last year’s enacted levels.

Senate
The Senate Appropriations Committee approved a number of spending bills yesterday, including the Energy & Water Development spending bill marked up in subcommittee earlier this week.
The Senate Committee did stray from the subcommittee’s mark earlier this week. The full committee approved $5.32 billion for the Army Corps, restoring the $413 million cut by the President’s request. The Bureau of Reclamation’s spending levels also went untouched. The full committee approved $1.133 billion, including $22.5 million for the Title XVI water recycling program and $40 million for Calfed.
