ACWA’s DC Conference In Two Weeks


“Bringing California Water Conversations to D.C.” is the theme of ACWA’s 2012 Washington, D.C., Conference Feb. 28-March 1 at the Washington Court Hotel.

The Washington Conference provides a unique opportunity to meet with members of the 112th Congress and the Obama administration. Highlights will include learning about key Congressional committee agendas, understanding the direction of federal agencies, and developing insights about where Congress is headed this year.

Confirmed speakers to date include U.S. Reps. Jim Costa (D- 20), Jeff Denham (R-19), John Garamendi (D-10), Dan Lungren (R-3), Tom McClintock (R-4) and Grace Napolitano (D-38); Aaron Salzberg, special coordinator for water resources, U.S. Department of State; and Mike Connor, commissioner, Bureau of Reclamation.

“China and the Global Water Challenge” will be the topic of a luncheon keynote address by Robert Percival, director, Environmental Law Program, University of Maryland, Francis King Carey School of Law.
