Golf Tournament to Honor Former ACWA Executive Director Steve Hall: Register by Aug. 26
The deadline to register for a golf tournament honoring former ACWA Executive Director Steve Hall and benefiting a scholarship in his name is Aug. 26.
The inaugural Steve Hall Fierce Competitor Golf Tournament is slated for Friday, Sept. 16, at the Dark Horse Golf Club in Auburn, northeast of Sacramento. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Stephen K. Hall ACWA Water Law and Policy Scholarship and ALS research.
Hall retired in 2007 after 15 years as ACWA's executive director and a 30-year career in California water. He played a central role in some of the biggest achievements in recent California water policy history and developed a statewide reputation for bringing diverse interests together and advancing policies to address the state’s water supply challenges.
Hall passed away on Jan. 19, 2010, after a lengthy battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
The $7,000 scholarship is presented annually to a qualified graduate student majoring in law, policy or public administration with a focus or concentration in California water resources.
To register for the tournament, send a completed registration form and entry fee to ACWA. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Contact ACWA Meetings and Membership Director Paula Currie for more information.
