ACWA: Request for Qualifications To Provide In-Conduit Hydroelectric Generation

The Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) Preferred Provider Program (APP) is looking to augment its current group of APPs with an In-Conduit Hydroelectric Generation (IHG) provider, which can assist its members in meeting the mandates of current legislation. Water use in California is responsible for 19% of the state’s total energy use and ACWA members seek to reduce their energy consumption by 33% by the year 2020 to align with California’s Renewable Portfolio Standard.  One method to help ACWA members meet this goal is to encourage efficiency, conservation and renewable power development.  In-conduit hydroelectric generation offers these opportunities to our members.
