ACWA Water Law & Policy Scholarship

Spring 2007 marked the unveiling of ACWA's new prestigious Water Law & Policy Scholarship, to honor Steve Hall, former ACWA executive director. Steve retired in 2007 after 15 years of dedicated service to the association and 30 years of water leadership.

ACWA awards one $7000 scholarship each spring to qualified graduate students who are majoring in law, policy or public administration and have a focus or concentration in water resources. Qualified students are selected based not only on scholastic achievement, but also on the individual's commitment and motivation to his/her chosen vocation. In addition to funding from ACWA, funds are being raised throughout the water community. Applications must be postmarked no later than APRIL 1 of each year.

ACWA Scholarships

The Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) awards two $3,000 scholarships each spring to qualified students in water resources-related fields.

Eligible students must be California residents attending selected California schools (Participating Schools) full time as a junior or senior during the current academic year. Applications must be postmarked no later than APRIL 1 of each year (DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO APRIL 11, 2008).

Clair A. Hill Scholarship

Each year a $5,000 scholarship, sponsored by CH2M Hill, is awarded to a deserving student. The program is administered by the ACWA member agency that received the Clair A. Hill Water Agency Award for Excellence the previous year. In 2007, Rancho California Water District was honored with the Clair A. Hill Water Agency Award for its innovative "Targeted Water Conservation Program". See Press Release for more information.

Eligible students must be California residents attending selected California schools (Participating Schools) full time as a sophmore, junior or senior during the current academic year. Applications must be postmarked no later than February 1, 2008.
