Be A Partner in ACWA’s Outreach Network
ACWA launched its Outreach Program in 2001 to help support and advance the association's legislative and regulatory agenda on behalf of its members. The program has had a very successful beginning and we look forward to improving the program for even greater results. This cannot be done without the voluntary participation of ACWA members. Greater results start with greater participation and ACWA is looking for volunteers willing to actively participate in the Outreach Network and respond quickly when needed.

ACWA will rely upon members of the Outreach Network to communicate ACWA positions on issues to legislators. Keep in mind that this is an important responsibility, which will require a small commitment of time and effort. But your time will pay off!

Together, ACWA and the Outreach Network will steer the development of policies and regulations in the right direction for California's public water agencies.

Why Do It? - Because It Works!
ACWA has developed the Outreach Program to make it as easy as possible for you to be involved.
ACWA has also developed a new outreach database to help make your participation in the Outreach Network more convenient and efficient. The new database will allow ACWA to target people in the network based on their interests, expertise, or contacts. This will allow ACWA to contact only those people in the Outreach Network who can be effective on an issue and keep you from getting bombarded with too much information. In addition, ACWA has instituted an Outreach Task Force to obtain ongoing member input and continue refinement of the program.

ACWA will provide you with the information and tools you will need. Since strong local outreach programs are key to the success of the Statewide Outreach Program, ACWA has first produced the Local Outreach Handbook to help members develop their own grassroots outreach programs. Then, ACWA’s Statewide Outreach Handbook will explain in detail how the Outreach Network will work on state and federal issues.

If you want to be a player in ACWA’s Outreach Network, complete the online registration form or see the registration form [PDF FILE] and:
1. Read the description of responsibilities for participation in the program
2. Complete all information requested on the form
3. Return the form to ACWA

If you have questions about the program or the form, please call Charles Anderson at 916.441.4545 or e-mail him at charlesa@acwa.com
