The Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee has scheduled an oversight hearing on the Bay-Delta Conservation Plan (BDCP) for 9 a.m. Oct. 19 at the State Capitol, Room 437. The committee will get an update on the status of the BDCP process and a recent Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed by state and federal agencies and local public water agencies identifying how the remaining planning activities will be funded.
The committee staff is in the process of preparing an agenda for the meeting.
The BDCP is analyzing conveyance improvements in the Delta in conjunction with habitat restoration and other measures as part of a Habitat Conservation Plan/Natural Community Conservation Plan. When complete, the BDCP will provide the basis for the issuance of endangered species permits for the operation of the state and federal water projects for a 50-year permit term.
The latest information on the BDCP can be found here. [6]
