The California Water Commission will take final action on agricultural water measurement regulations at its meeting on Friday, July 6.
Developed under SBX7 7, the water conservation arm of the comprehensive water package of 2009, the regulations must provide for a range of options for agricultural water suppliers to measure the volume of water delivered to customers and comply with farm-gate delivery measurement requirements. Water suppliers have until July 31, 2012, to comply.
Last week, the Department of Water Resources submitted a report to the Legislature identifying methods for quantifying agricultural water efficiency.
In addition to the water measurement regulations, the commission will also take action on a priority list for Delta levees special projects funding.
Instructions for participating in the meeting, to be held via teleconference, are listed on the agenda .
