Westside District Water Authority is a compilation of three agricultural water districts formed in 2012 and services farmland along the I-5 corridor in western Kern County with State Water Project water.

Under direction from the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager assists the General Manager in planning, organizing, and supervising the operations and functions of the three water districts originally formed in the early 1960’s. This position also assists with implementing Board policies and programs and assists with budget development and review as well as acting on behalf of the GM in that person’s absence.

In addition, the candidate will administer several compliance programs including the RWQCB Irrigated Lands program, the SGMA program and local groundwater banking programs and he/she will direct the activities of outside engineers and consultants.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in engineering, geology, business administration, public information or related fields. Experience with California State Water Project water delivery and water rights preferred.
