Goleta Water District is seeking an Executive Assistant/Clerk of the Board

COMPENSATION

$8,730 – $10,725/mo. plus benefits.

THE POSITION

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Executive Assistant/Clerk of the Board performs key administrative functions within the Office of the General Manager. The Executive Assistant/Clerk of the Board serves as a liaison to the Board of Directors, staff and the public; acts as the Assistant Secretary of the Board of Directors; administers various functions required by law including the District’s legislative policy making process, acts as the Filing Officer for the Fair Political Practices Commission, and oversees and conducts special projects. The ideal individual will be creative, and enjoy working within a small, collegial environment that is mission-driven and results-oriented. The individual will also be capable of exercising good judgment in a variety of situations, possess strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, have the ability to work independently, treat confidential matters with discretion, maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities and successfully complete assignments and projects in a timely manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Equivalent to an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience performing administrative functions is required; experience in a government setting interacting with elected and appointed officials is highly desirable. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred and may substitute for up to 2 years of professional experience. Requires a valid California Drivers License.
