Salary open DOQ. The Russian River area has long been a favorite Sonoma County destination with majestic redwood forests, parks, wineries, and miles of dramatic, pristine Pacific coastline. Community events abound throughout the year.

SSWD (located in Guerneville, CA) provides water distribution and maintenance services to six historic unincorporated communities adjacent to the Russian River. The District serves 8,000 people with 3,600 accounts, 95% of which are residential. Water is distributed through 65 miles of pipes and is stored in 26 tanks and reservoirs. SSWD produces good quality water by pumping Russian River underflow from five wells, which is treated in two separate treatment facilities. The District is governed by a five-member Board, elected to four-year staggered terms. SSWD has eleven staff and an FY2018-19 budget of $3.4 million.

Candidates should also have experience with a variety of complex issues, negotiating and monitoring contracts, as well as developing and overseeing capital improvement projects. Requires knowledge of water well operations, water quality and standards, and the ability to run a water system. Solid knowledge of California water laws and water rights is necessary, as is financial acumen.
