The Mojave Water Agency is seeking a full-time position in our IT Department for:

INFORMATION SYSTEMS MANAGER

COMPENSATION

The Information Systems Manager is an exempt position with an annual salary range of $119,961 – $167,945; paid bi-weekly

THE POSITION

The ideal Information Systems Manager is an experienced leader with a proven ability to strategically plan and manage a diverse portfolio of Information Technology assets.
The Information Systems Manager will manage all the Agency’s Information Technology assets which include but are not limited to voice systems, video systems, network systems, access gates, electronic data and information, Enterprise applications, databases, network infrastructure, and SCADA systems. The Information Systems Manager will also lead the completion and implementation of the Agency’s Information Technology Strategic Plan; and other duties as assigned.
Examples of key job functions include:

  • Lead and direct the Agency’s Information Technology Department, including staff, consultants, and vendors
  • Maintain and track the Information Technology Department budget, contracts, assts, and software licensing
  • Supervise IT department staff including those that are responsible for the configuration, installation, and support of all desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile devices
  • Recommend and develop plans for information system development and operations, hardware and software purchases, budget, and staffing
  • Work collaboratively with Agency staff through support, mentoring, and training
  • Develop, implement, and monitor information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain security for the Agency’s network and facilities, including monitoring and managing cyber-security alerts and providing regular reports to management
  • Establish and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans
  • Continually research, evaluate, and recommend implementation of new technologies
  • Interpret, apply, explain, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local policies, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.

The successful candidate will have the following required skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully supervise and motivate a team
  • Proven ability to think strategically, resolve conflict, and make decisions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated success in network administration and security
  • Experience with Cisco voice over IP phone systems
  • Demonstrated experience managing/administering collaboration toolsets including SharePoint; MS Teams; Windows 10 configuration, installation, and support; Office 365 administration and support

In addition to the required skills, desired skills include experience with: SQL database administration, queries, and maintenance; Microwave networks, cellular, and radios; ClearSCADA; and ArcGIS.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates will possess:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Computer Science or related field, plus six (6) years of in-depth computer/network experience or technical training in computer science or related field, and eight (8) years of progressive supervisory or management experience.
