Jensen Ave., Fresno, CA 93725 Under general direction of the Director of Water Resources/Chief Engineer, supervises other personnel performing, or performs, complex construction, maintenance, or engineering work in any phase of the District’s Flood Operations & Maintenance Division. Duties and Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Plan, conduct, assign, supervise and review the work of a staff or consultants engaged in the detailed work connected with one or more of the following: Planning investigations involving the engineering and economic justification of the Kings River Flood Control Project Studies of the causes of floods and the methods of controlling them Design and preparation of drawing of proposed structures inside the Designated Floodway A wide variety of engineering projects, such as bank stabilization, levee construction, channel design, and other similar structures The management of flood control maintenance projects in and along the Designated Floodway Coordinate with California Fish and Wildlife, US Army Corps of Engineers, Central Valley Flood Protection Board, Department of Water Resources, San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District, and other local, state and federal agencies to obtain the necessary permit/requirements to achieve the District’s goals As required, acts as a District representative or consultant in specific field Regular attendance and adherence to prescribed work schedule to conduct job responsibilities State, federal and private grant tracking, application processes and administration
