The new Senior Regional Affairs Representative will join a team of professionals who work in a collaborative environment with respected water leaders across the state to develop and advance critical water management policy priorities on behalf of California’s agricultural and urban water agencies and water users. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and proactive individual to gain a wealth of knowledge regarding the California water industry by providing critical support and being an integral part of ACWA’s Member Outreach and Engagement team.

About the Position

The Senior Regional Affairs Representative serves as technical expert on ACWA region policies, rules and regulations, serves as project manager for a variety of region activities, assists with the development and implementation of member outreach strategies and serves as representative in the field to build and foster relationships in the regions.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess project management skills, a knowledge of member recruitment and retention strategy development and implementation, knowledge of grassroots outreach practices, an ability to interpret and apply region policies, rules and procedures, and present information to assigned regions in an effective manner.  The position requires frequent travel to assigned regions.  Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in government, public relations, marketing, business administration or a related field and four years of experience comparable to a Field Representative performing duties including government relations or public relations coupled with member relationship and/or client services support within a membership association.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range is $80,860 – $105,117. Salary placement is based on qualifications. ACWA offers a competitive benefits package that includes CalPERS retirement, medical insurance, and dental insurance.
