The ferocity of these floodwaters swept people, homes, and entire communities away. The keynote speaker for this year’s CA Central Valley Flood Control Association Flood Forum is an expert on emergency response, preparedness, flood insurance, and mitigations measures that reduce the risk of flooding. Roy Wright will talk about the future of flood risk, flood risk data, and what is possible to address in the area of flood insurance. Mr. Wright is the President and CEO of the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety, located in Richburg, South Carolina. He previously served at FEMA as the chief executive of the National Flood Insurance Program, led the agency’s Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration, and directed resilience programs addressing earthquake, fire, flood, and wind risks.
