Paul will share how DWR’s Sustainable Groundwater Management team has grown, what he sees as key priorities in this next phase, and how state and local agencies can work together to advance sustainable groundwater management through innovation, technical support, and adaptive strategies. Please register at the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_EoGXBhX7ShSbvKs5C6fCqg#/registration Paul Gosselin Deputy Director for Sustainable Groundwater Management California Department of Water Resources Paul Gosselin joined the Department of Water Resources (DWR) as the Deputy Director for Sustainable Groundwater Management in July 2021. In this role, he oversees DWR’s groundwater management activities statewide, including implementation of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). As of February 2024, the Division of Regional Assistance was placed under Paul’s leadership and is now called the Sustainable Water Management Division. The Sustainable Water Management Division includes Sustainable Water Management, Regional Offices, Water Use Efficiency, and Financial Assistance. Prior to joining DWR, Paul served for 13 years as Butte County’s Director of Water and Resource Conservation. There, he managed the county’s State Water Project Table A allocation, chaired the Butte County Drought Task Force, and oversaw the development of three Groundwater Sustainability Plans in three subbasins. Earlier in his career, Paul served as Chief Deputy Director at the California Department of Pesticide Regulation. From 1989 to 1993, he was the Director of Regulatory Services for the Massachusetts Department of Food and Agriculture.
