ACWA has announced that State Water Resources Control Board Vice Chair Dorene D’Adamo will be one of the keynote speakers at the ACWA 2021 Fall Conference & Exhibition, being held Nov. 30-Dec. 2. She will speak about water issues affecting agricultural and urban water agencies across the state.

ACWA has released a conference brochure online that provides details on several of the programs to be held at ACWA’s first dual in-person and virtual conference.

One of the key programs will be a conversation with State Water Board Chair E. Joaquin Esquivel and Public Policy Institute of California Water Policy Center Vice President and Director Ellen Hanak. Moderated by ACWA Deputy Executive Director for Government Relations Cindy Tuck, the special forum will cover a variety of current pressing water issues, such as the drought, water use efficiency, COVID-19 arrearages, safe drinking water and SGMA implementation.

Another highlight of the conference will take place during a Wednesday general session, when ACWA member agency representatives will elect a President and Vice President for the 2022-’23 term.

Throughout the three-day event, news and insights into how California’s water community is responding to the drought will occupy a central role, ranging from communication strategies to water theft prevention and achieving water conservation as a California way of life.

Program offerings will again include statewide issue forums and region discussions, along with sessions covering a wide range of topics including drought, water management, affordable drinking water issues, agriculture, groundwater, energy, finance and the latest developments at the federal level affecting California water agencies.
