ACWA Region Election Process Underway for 2022-’23 Term by ACWA Staff May 10, 2021 Water News ACWA’s region election process is underway to determine the boards of each of the 10 regions, including the chairs, vice chairs and board members for the 2022-’23 term. The deadline for candidates to submit applications is June 30. Election materials were recently sent to ACWA member agencies’ general managers and board presidents electronically. Included in the e-mail was a link to the ACWA region election webpage with information about the role and responsibilities of the regions, election timeline, region rules and regulations, candidate nomination form, and a sample resolution. The webpage requires a member login to access. Interested candidates must submit a signed resolution of support from their agency’s board of directors in order to be eligible for the election. All candidate nomination forms, signed resolutions and candidate information must be submitted to ACWA no later than June 30. The election begins on Aug. 2, when the region nominating committees announce their recommended slate for each of the 10 region boards. An official electronic ballot identifying the recommended slate and any additional candidates for consideration will be sent to all ACWA member agencies on that date. Only one ballot per agency will be accepted. All region election ballots must be received by Sept. 30. Election results will be announced on Oct. 4. Additional region election information and materials are available online.
