ACWA’s Updated Drought Toolkit Available for Members by ACWA Staff Jul 13, 2022 Water News ACWA recently released an updated drought toolkit that provides member agencies with communication tactics for engaging customers and local media outlets and educating them about water suppliers’ conservation successes and investments in long-term drought resilience. The toolkit includes a customizable op-ed, news release, talking points, fact sheets on the State Water Resource Control Board’s drought emergency regulations, media pitch ideas and a special newsletter – “ACWA Drought News” – that can be shared with policy makers and other stakeholders. The newsletter highlights successful response actions water suppliers throughout the state are taking to ensure both short- and long-term climate readiness. In addition, the statewide Save Our Water campaign has created a number of new customizable communications tools for water agencies to help their customers reduce water usage. This includes a new Homeowners Association Toolkit with resources for HOAs and its members including brochures, flyers and social media content.
