Bill Addressing Lead Testing in Schools Awaits Action by Governor by Pamela Martineau Sep 27, 2017 Water News A bill which would require community water systems to sample and test for lead in drinking water at schools was passed by the Legislature earlier this month and is now awaiting action by Gov. Jerry Brown. The bill, AB 746 by Assembly Member Lorena Gonzales-Fletcher (D-San Diego), is one of six bills regarding lead in drinking water that were considered by the Legislature this year. ACWA is not requesting any specific action on the bill – either a signature or a veto – but wishes to advise members that action by the governor on this legislation is pending.
