CNRA INVITES COMMENT ON PROPOSED CEQA UPDATES by Will Holbert Jan 30, 2018 Water News The California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) on Monday released the most comprehensive update to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines since 1998. The proposed amendments have been developed over the past four years by the Governor’s Office of Planning & Research (OPR). They incorporate statutory changes, court decisions and stakeholder comments from public agencies, developers, business groups, environmental groups and others. Issues covered include water supply and quality, climate, wetlands, transportation and energy. More information is available on CNRA’s website. The deadline for comments is March 15. ACWA does not currently intend to submit comments because most of the proposed updates appear to reflect current case law and statutory changes, such as the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act of 2014. Members who have questions or believe comments by ACWA are warranted should contact ACWA Director of State Regulatory Relations Dave Bolland at (916) 441-4545 by March 1.
