Save Our Water Launches Spring/Summer Campaign Toolkit by Will Holbert Apr 26, 2019 Water News Save Our Water has launched its Spring/Summer campaign focusing on long-term conservation and motivating Californians to upgrade their lawns to water wise landscaping. The award winning statewide campaign originated from a partnership between ACWA and the Department of Water Resources in 2009. Since then, the Save Our Water campaign’s traditional and digital marketing outreach has reached millions of Californians each year in collaboration with water agencies. DWR took over management of the Save Our Water campaign in 2018, and ACWA continues to support it by encouraging members to access free collateral materials. The latest Save Our Water campaign is based on recommendations from water agencies and highlights how much water customers are using on their lawns compared to typical indoor use like toilets and washing machines. The spring/summer Save Our Water campaign features digital banners/bill stuffers, transit posters, and radio spots with the message “Your lawn has a drinking problem.” Elements from the Save Our Water Partner Toolkit are available online. Save Our Water will release additional video and digital content over the next few months, including easy-to-follow, do-it-yourself videos on how to convert lawns to water wise landscaping. “Thank you to everyone who gave us feedback at the San Diego ACWA Conference in November.
