Save Our Water Releases Holiday Toolkit Items by ACWA Staff Nov 23, 2021 Water News The statewide Save Our Water campaign, in partnership with ACWA, has released new social media posts and graphics for water agencies to help their customers reduce water usage during the holidays. The new posts and graphics include holiday water saving tips such as cleaning the yard with a broom instead of a hose and washing full loads of dishes and laundry. The new holiday content is available to ACWA members online. In addition, ACWA members are still encouraged to use the recently released Save Our Water Toolkit that includes social media posts and graphics, sample radio scripts, along with indoor and outdoor flyers that include tips on how to reduce water consumption and more. The Newsom Administration continues to monitor whether Californians are voluntarily reducing water use by 15% compared to 2020 levels following a July 8 Executive Order. ACWA member agencies are encouraged to utilize Save Our Water’s toolkit items to help customers reduce water use and, at a minimum, meet the 15% goal. The Save Our Water program was created in 2009 by ACWA and the California Department of Water Resources to help Californians be as efficient as possible when it comes to water use. The program’s goal is to encourage Californians to make lasting decreases in their daily water use by using water more wisely and preparing for more frequent and persistent periods of limited water supply.
