Becoming an ACWA Outreach Ambassador maximizes your association membership by connecting you and your agency to the latest available news affecting California’s water community. It all starts with a short online form  on www.acwa.com that takes about a minute or less to fill out.

By providing your contact information, ACWA will add you to the email list of California water professionals receiving ACWA Alerts and Advisories by email.  These emails not only deliver breaking news on legislation and regulatory changes, they also give you the necessary

information to become an effective part of ACWA’s advocacy efforts through contacting legislators, key regulators and administration officials. At the same time, member agencies rely on Outreach Ambassadors to stay abreast of current developments and spread the word to co-workers, management and agency board members.

If you are unsure whether you are currently included in the distribution list, feel free to sign up to confirm. Some email addresses were inadvertently removed from the distribution list late last year due to technical problems. You can also contact Ana Javaid at (916) 441-4545 with any questions.

Contacts made by ACWA members have directly affected the outcome of numerous decisions at the state level, helping advance ACWA members’ legislative and regulatory goals.  In addition, your level of engagement as an Outreach Ambassador can earn statewide recognition through ACWA’s annual Outreach Awards Program showcasing how your agency played a role in steering statewide outcomes for all ACWA members.
