SWRCB Requests Public Input on Bay-Delta Plan Phase II by Teresa McGaffic Oct 6, 2017 Water News The State Water Resources Control Board has posted a request for public input pertaining to its Phase II update of the Water Quality Control Plan for the San Francisco Bay/Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Estuary. Phase II addresses issues in the Sacramento River and its tributaries, the Delta, and the Mokelumne, Calaveras, and Cosumnes rivers (Delta eastside tributaries), including river flow, cold water habitat, Delta outflows, and water project operations. A formal public comment period regarding proposed changes to the Bay-Delta Plan will occur at a later date; the State Water Board’s current request is for “optional and early public input” to help inform potential implementation measures by answering a series of questions online. The deadline to submit answers is Nov. 9. Additional documents that were posted include a fact sheet reporting on Phase II status and proposed changes to the Bay-Delta Plan, instructions for staying updated on the Phase II process, and the final Scientific Basis Report and hydrologic modeling information underlying Phase II. ACWA is reviewing the materials and will prepare comments.
