WOTUS Proposed Rule and Public Engagement Sessions Announced by ACWA Staff Nov 19, 2021 Water News WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Nov. 18, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Army Corps of Engineers signed a proposed rule to revise the definition of “waters of the United States” (WOTUS). The agencies published the unofficial pre-publication rule for interested parties to review. Once the proposed rule is officially published in the Federal Register there will be a 60-day comment period. The agencies plan to host three virtual public hearings in January 2022 on the proposal. The agencies request that interested parties submit their self-nomination letters via email to WOTUS-outreach@epa.gov. The deadline for submission has been extended to Dec. 1.
