The Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA), California Water Association (CWA), California Municipal Utilities Association (CMUA), and the American Water Works Association California-Nevada Section (AWWA) appreciate the opportunity to provide comments to the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) regarding the recommendation to revise the detection limit for purposes of reporting (DLR) for perchlorate. Collectively our associations represent over 500 public and regulated water systems that deliver over 90% of the water used for residential, commercial and agricultural purposes in California. Our members are entrusted with the responsibility of supplying the public with safe and reliable drinking water. Ensuring the safety of drinking water supplies by complying with all relevant state and federal standards is the highest priority of our members.
