The report summarizes water quality monitoring conducted throughout 2025 and confirms that BCVWD continues to meet or exceed state and federal drinking water standards for the vast majority of regulated contaminants. It also provides customers with information about where their water comes from, how it is tested, and the District’s ongoing efforts to protect public health through continuous monitoring and system improvements. “Every day, our employees are working to provide safe, reliable drinking water for our community, not just today, but for the future as well,” said BCVWD Board President Lona Williams. “This report gives our customers a chance to see the work that goes into protecting water quality, maintaining our infrastructure, and planning ahead so we can continue providing dependable service for generations to come.” In addition to water quality information, this year’s report highlights several initiatives that strengthen the District’s water system, including continued groundwater recharge beyond annual replenishment requirements, replacement of aging water pipelines, development of additional local water supplies, and emergency preparedness efforts designed to enhance system resilience during droughts, wildfires, and other emergencies. The report also showcases the many ways BCVWD serves the community beyond delivering drinking water, including customer service, conservation education, advanced meter technology, system maintenance, and around-the-clock emergency response. “Our community depends on a water system that is both dependable today and prepared for tomorrow,” said BCVWD Board Director John Covington. “The investments highlighted in this report demonstrate BCVWD’s commitment to maintaining reliable infrastructure while responsibly managing the water resources entrusted to us.” Although the report notes one monitoring and reporting violation involving a missed quarterly hexavalent chromium sample at a single well, the District immediately implemented additional procedures and staff training to prevent future occurrences. The report also explains California’s phased compliance schedule for the newer hexavalent chromium standard and outlines the District’s ongoing work to address future regulatory requirements. BCVWD encourages all customers to review the 2025 Consumer Confidence Report to learn more about their drinking water and the District’s ongoing commitment to transparency, public health, and responsible stewardship.
