New Board Director Puts Community First by San Gorgonio Pass Water Agency Feb 26, 2025 Member Submitted News BEAUMONT – The San Gorgonio Pass Water Agency (SGPWA) Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Sarah Wargo as its newest member. Elected on November 5, 2024, Director Wargo represents the Banning and Cabazon service areas. With a strong background in community advocacy, she is driven by the same penchant for service that defines SGPWA’s Board. “The Pass area is my home,” Director Wargo said. “I am dedicated to ensuring my community thrives with a reliable water supply because, when it impacts your family, it impacts mine too.” Director Wargo comes to SGPWA from an eight-year tenure as the Cabazon Water District (CWD) Board Chair. Historically, SGPWA and CWD have partnered on gap funding projects. Director Wargo brings that spirit of partnership to her role at SGPWA. At CWD, she fostered collaboration and advanced fiscal and strategic improvements. Her experience at CWD prepared her well to serve at SGPWA. “Director Wargo has demonstrated her commitment to Pass area residents time and again, and we are lucky to have her on our Board,” SGPWA Board President Mickey Valdivia said. “She embodies our mission to support our region’s quality of life, and we know she will help advance SGPWA’s sustainable water management efforts.” Director Wargo’s service career includes her role on the West Desert Municipal Action Committee, which addresses the concerns of Cabazon residents at a local level. Director Wargo has also volunteered for the nonprofits Cabazon Association, Kid2Kid Closet, Heartland Assisted Equine Center, and UCAN food drives. Director Wargo brings two decades of experience in business process analysis. In her role as Associate Director at United Health Care, she honed her expertise in enhancing efficiency and productivity through innovation, engagement, and collaborative leadership. Director Wargo is committed to ensuring water security that aligns with the region’s evolving needs, fostering impactful partnerships, and safeguarding the Pass area’s water supply. She looks forward to collaborating with her fellow Board members to develop resilient water resources.
