PWD Hosting H2GO 5K at Lake Palmdale, ABC7 Reporter Leo Stallworth to Emcee by Palmdale Water District Jun 4, 2026 Member Submitted News PALMDALE – The Palmdale Water District (PWD) will hold its inaugural H2GO 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, June 13, giving participants a rare opportunity to enjoy the morning serenity and beauty of Lake Palmdale. Welcoming runners and walkers to the 8 a.m. event will be ABC7 Eyewitness News Reporter Leo Stallworth, who will serve as the emcee and award trophies to race winners. “We greatly appreciate Mr. Stallworth agreeing to take part in our event,” said PWD GM Dennis D. LaMoreaux. “He is very well-known and involved in our community, and we are honored to have him emcee our first ever 5K that will have more than 200 participants.” To sign up for the event, go to www.palmdalewater.org or www.runsignup.com. The fee for adults is $52.93 and for children ages 8-12 is $16.90. The registration comes with an event T-shirt and a custom finisher’s medal featuring a lake and poppies. The 3.1-mile race route will be one loop around Lake Palmdale, 600 East Avenue S, in Palmdale. The course is mostly flat and sits approximately 2,900 feet above sea level. The race will be professionally chip-timed. Trophies will be awarded to the first-place and second-place male and female finishers in the following age categories: 8-12, 13-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50 and older. The Start/Finish area will feature food vendors and sponsor booths. Palmdale Lake, which is one of PWD’s three water sources, is home to more than 200 bird species. PWD leases it to the Palmdale Fin and Feather Club for recreational activities, including fishing and duck hunting. Normally, it is only open to club members.
