The State Water Board is expected to adopt the regulation this summer. Several of the recent changes were in response to ACWA’s June 4 comment letter. ACWA staff is reviewing the revised draft regulation and determining next steps. The draft regulation outlines unique water use efficiency goals for each urban retail water supplier, including urban water use efficiency standards, variances, an urban water use objective, and commercial, industrial, and institutional (CII) performance measures. ACWA, its member agencies, and coalition partners have been highly engaged on the state’s pre-rulemaking efforts to inform the Making Conservation a California Way of Life Regulation.
