Treatment / Distribution Operator (Assigned to Distribution) by Coastside County Water District Oct 1, 2026 Job Location Half Moon Bay Application Deadline 10/16/2026 How to Apply Submit an application, resume and cover letter to jobs@coastsidewater.org or mail to Coastside County Water District, 766 Main Street, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019 More information: www.coastsidewater.org KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Install and repair water mains, service connections, meters, and hydrants. • Respond to water leaks and perform distribution system maintenance. • Operate and maintain water treatment plants and pump stations. • Monitor water quality, collect samples, and perform chemical testing. • Inspect and maintain wells, storage tanks, pumps, and other facilities. • Operate trucks, backhoes, power tools, and other equipment. • Read water meters and maintain accurate service and operational records. • Respond to after-hours emergencies and participate in weekend and holiday rotations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • California Grade 2 Water Distribution Certificate. • California Grade 2 Water Treatment Certificate. • Valid California Class C Driver’s License. • Ability to obtain a Class B California Driver’s License within six months of employment. • Knowledge of water distribution, treatment operations, equipment maintenance, and workplace safety. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, follow instructions, and respond effectively to emergencies. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS This position involves physical labor, operating heavy equipment, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and exposure to confined spaces, heights, noise, and chemicals. Employees must be available for weekend and holiday rotations, irregular hours, and emergency callouts.
