During 2018, ACWA and its membership proved how strength through collaboration plays a key role in several accomplishments.

Externally, ACWA continued its leadership in several critical state water issues. Water policy on headwaters and forest management, Bay-Delta flows, groundwater and energy all reflected ACWA’s influence on behalf of members. The advocacy and outreach on advancing safe drinking water solutions helped defeat the proposed tax on drinking water. ACWA also launched a 10-part video series titled “California H2O: Flowing for the Future,” highlighting member innovation and success to educate Californians on critical water issues.

Internally, ACWA staff fulfilled objectives set in several key areas in 2018, including the addition of 9 new members and increasing engagement with member agencies. ACWA’s member agencies and  staff alike deserve credit for these achievements. Coordinating together and unifying is what makes ACWA strong.
