Agency: California Regional Water Quality Control Board

Subject: ACWA Comments on the Draft Reservoir Questionnaire for the Statewide Mercury Control Program for Reservoirs

Letter excerpt:

ACWA supports the suggested changes to the questionnaire that were proposed by the San Diego County Water Authority, and are attached to this letter. The suggested changes will encourage more participation from agencies that own and operate multiple reservoirs by making the reporting process less onerous.

We would also like to confirm that responses to the questionnaire will only be used to bin reservoirs into categories for pilot tests in Phase I, and not for any future regulatory or programmatic action.

ACWA requests to be included on your distribution list so that we may participate in future focus group meetings for reservoir owners and operators, and to be informed when draft documents and plans are released for comment. We would also like to serve on the expert panel referenced in the draft questionnaire.
